Sugaring

A natural alternative to wax, leaving you smoother.

What Is Sugaring?

Sugaring is an ancient hair removal technique made from just three natural ingredients: sugar, lemon and water. Unlike wax, the paste only grips onto hair and dead skin cells - never live skin - so there's less irritation and no risk of the skin tearing or burning that can come with hot wax.

Because hair is removed in its natural direction of growth, there's far less trauma to the follicle. That means fewer ingrown hairs, and over time, many clients see their hair grow back finer and more sparse. The sugar itself has natural antibacterial and exfoliating properties, so you're left with smoother, softer skin - not just hair-free skin.

Skinfit has been perfecting this technique since 2015, and we've been named Australian Body Sugaring Stockist three times, with two runner-up finishes - Warrnambool's most awarded sugaring salon.

Why choose sugaring over waxing:

  • No heat involved - comfortable for sensitive skin and skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis
  • Gentler on delicate areas since it doesn't stick to live skin cells
  • Less painful than waxing, especially if you're moving over from shaving
  • Hair as short as 1.5mm can still be removed
  • 100% natural - no preservatives, parabens, artificial fragrances or synthetic chemicals
  • Water-soluble and eco-friendly - nothing left behind

What Our Clients Say

  • Yana P.

    ★★★★★
"I wish I had switched sooner!" I had been waxing for years and always left appointments feeling sore and red. After my first body sugaring appointment I couldn't believe the difference. It was so much gentler on my skin, and I've had far fewer ingrown hairs. I'm officially converted!
  • Jacinta D.

    ★★★★★
I used to shave constantly because I hated waiting for my hair to grow long enough for waxing. Since starting body sugaring, my hair grows back so much finer and slower. My skin stays smoother for weeks, and I don't get that itchy stubble anymore.
  • Rosie R.

    ★★★★★
"Perfect for my sensitive skin." Waxing always left me with irritation and bumps that lasted for days. A friend recommended body sugaring, and it's been a game changer. My skin is so much calmer, appointments are more comfortable, and the results are amazing. I wouldn't go back to waxing.
  • Mary E.

    ★★★★★
"The best decision I've made for my skin." After years of shaving, I was sick of razor burn and ingrown hairs. Body sugaring has completely changed my skin. It's smoother, healthier, and I actually look forward to my appointments now. I can't believe I waited this long to try it.
  • Ellie S.

    ★★★★★
I was nervous about trying body sugaring because I'd only ever shaved, but it exceeded all my expectations. The treatment was much more comfortable than I expected, my results lasted so much longer, and my hair is already growing back softer. I'll never go back to shaving!

    FAQs

    Does sugaring hurt?

It's generally less painful than waxing, especially if you're a regular waxer or moving over from shaving. Because the paste only grips hair and dead skin - not live skin cells - there's less trauma to the area.

    How long do results last?

Most clients stay smooth for several weeks, and with regular sessions, hair often grows back finer and more sparse over time.

    Will I get ingrown hairs?

Sugaring removes hair in its natural direction of growth, which significantly reduces ingrown hairs compared to waxing or shaving. Regular gentle exfoliation between appointments helps too.

    Is it hygienic?

Yes - the sugar paste is water-soluble and naturally antibacterial. Applicators are single-use.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. Because there's no heat and the paste doesn't adhere to live skin, sugaring is a good option for sensitive skin and skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or for those with varicose or spider veins.

    How often should I book?

Most clients rebook every 4-6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle and the area treated.
